Nusret’s fascination with colour and nature went hand-in-hand, and even collecting stones from the outdoors became a fun activity, as she grouped them according to their colours and crushed them into powder using other stones.

Her curiosity and creativity only grew through her teenage years. After high school, she established her art studio, working intuitively on graphic design and painting projects. Her artistic development led her to attend the Faculty of Fine Arts in university, where she was briefly introduced to Mosaics. As she improved in mosaics, she was pleasantly surprised to discover its capacity to accentuate fine details to be no lesser than painting’s, which was a revelation for her career.

As a child, Nusret used to break her brother’s glass marbles to get to the colourful section inside. Who knows, maybe this affiliation with broken pieces of glass has always been in her. And though it is no surprise for children to be destructive, Nusret is one of those rare cases where this quality has turned into a beautiful, fulfilling profession.
