Ionic Column Pendant

Graphic Designer Ada Tuncer’s jewellery brand explores ancient mythological characters as well as modern-day icons.

Ionic columns are easily recognisable by their spiral whorl designs at the top, and are said to be the more feminine design out of the three types of columns used in Ancient Greece.

Early examples of Ionic columns still stand in present-day Turkey and can be seen in the ancient city of Efes (Ephesus, c. 325 BC) situated near Selçuk, specifically at the Temple of Artemis or the Library of Celsus.
