ada taki

Starting her career in the arts as a graphic designer, Ada soon added painting and jewellery-making to her belt. She enjoys overcoming the limitations presented by her chosen mediums, and regularly explores new techniques whilst preserving her unique and playful style.

When Serop Benli, a family friend and a master jewellery-maker, offered to teach her jewellery-making, she couldn’t refuse. She was impressed by Master Benli’s primitive way of crafting metal into jewellery, creating a vast variety of works despite exclusively working on sheets of Brass. For her, the artistic limitations caused by this technique helped her gain a unique style as a jewellery-maker, resulting in jewellery that beautifully mixes modern and archaic references, both visually and conceptually.
